William J. Kehres joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. and was assigned to Company F of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He also served at Camp Swift, Tex. before being sent to Italy. Kehres was wounded in action at Serre D'Aiano in April 1945 and by the end of the war had attained the rank of Private First Class. From the description of William J. Kehres papers, 1945.
